[[{“value”:”
Last month, Marvel teased that Deadpool #6 would feature the death of Wade Wilson, Deadpool. Now the other shoe just dropped, and Marvel is revealing that the death of Wade Wilson will be followed up by the debut of the brand-new Deadpool, who will be making HER debut in Deadpool #7 in October.
The new Deadpool will be Ellie Camacho, Deadpool’s daughter. Deadpool #7 will be written by regular Deadpool writer, Cody Ziglar, but will be co-written by Alexis Quasarano, a writer from the Harley Quinn TV series that has been doing some DC comic book work recently (this will be her Marvel debut). The art will be by Andrea Di Vito, behind covers by Taurin Clarke and Mark Bagley.
Deadpool & Wolverine’s Ending, Explained
Deadpool & Wolverine has an explosive ending that threatens to destroy the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse and everything both heroes hold dear.
Why is there a new Deadpool?
As we noted when the news of Deadpool #6 was first revealed, Deadpool’s new villain introduced in this current series, Death Grip, has been dedicating himself to killing the “unkillable” Deadpool. In its press release for Deadpool’s death, Marvel noted, “Cody Ziglar and Rogê Antônio’s DEADPOOL run reaches a startling turning point this September with the death of Wade Wilson! Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for an announcement about an all-new era of the series kicking off in DEADPOOL #6.”
With Deadpool dead, his daughter, Ellie Camacho, will be taking over for her father, and will be trained by Taskmaster in how to be a mercenary, but she obviously wants revenge more than anything, and she will be turning to the Carnage clone, Princess, for help in achieving that purpose.
Ryan Reynolds Discusses Deadpool & Wolverine’s Lady Deadpool Indentity and Rumors
Ryan Reynolds is having so much fun watching people speculate the face behind one particular Deadpool & Wolverine character’s mask.
Who is Ellie Camacho?
Introduced during Brian Posehn and Gerry Dugan’s run on Deadpool (co-created by artist Declan Shalvey), Eleanor “Ellie” Camacho was the daughter of one of Deadpool’s former girlfriends. Deadpool abandoned Ellie’s mother, Camelita, before he knew that Carmelita was pregnant. Later, the villainous Butler had kidnapped Ellie and Carmelita as an insurance policy against Deadpool.
Carmelita was killed at this point, and Deadpool initially abandoned Ellie, assuming that she would be better off with anyone but him in her life. Later, he realized that that was a bad idea, and rescued Ellie, having her go live with the family of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Emily Preston. Ellie and Deadpool have had a strange relationship over the years, but it is clear that she has love for her father.
Ellie is a mutant, she has a healing power that should serve her well filling in for her father as Deadpool.
