SDCC 2024: Hasbro Reveals New Figures for Marvel Legends, GI Joe, Transformers & More

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 has begun, and toy company Hasbro has unveiled a variety of new figures to be released. Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe, and Transformers were some of the many franchises included in Hasbro’s SDCC brand preview event.

Pictures from Hasbro’s preview show many new figures that will soon be available for collectors, including Marvel’s Kang the Conqueror, Wolverine, and Giant-Man, as well as Legacy Collection editions of Deadpool and Wolverine. There was also a large table of merchandise from the upcoming Transformers One movie, with figures including Power Flip Optimus Prime (Orion Pax), COG Changer Wheeljack, and a Robot Battlers 2-Pack. G.I. Joe action figures previewed included a Cobra Commander figure, one of Edward “Starduster” Skylar, and a Classified Series G.I. Joe Assault Copter – Dragonfly (XH-1). Hasbro also unveiled toys intended for a younger audience from Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends — a Dino-Webs NERF Spidey-Rex Web Launcher and a Dance ‘N Crawl Spidey. The Dance ‘N Crawl toy plays two songs, including “Do the Spidey!” from the Disney Junior series, while the NERF toy works like one of Spider-Man’s web launchers, attaching to the hand and shooting foam “dino-webs.” The event also teased what appeared to be a Transformers and Converse collaboration, with six different pairs of shoes on display.

San Diego Comic-Con began with a special preview night on Wednesday, with the full con experience kicking off Thursday morning. The event has already seen numerous pop culture brands reveal exclusive new merchandise for attendees. Funko collectors can take part in a ‘Pop! Yourself’ Experience, creating a look-alike figure wearing either Deadpool or Wolverine’s iconic suits from the Marvel Universe.

There have also been big reveals in the world of anime, with Sailor Moon appearing at SDCC with an exclusive merchandise set for fans of the magical girl franchise. Dragon Ball also has SDCC-exclusive booth opportunities and merchandise, including a Daima illustration acrylic stand. Other anime news surrounding SDCC included popular streaming site Crunchyroll announcing a “brand makeover” promising fans a “bolder” anime experience.
