Deadpool Fights a Dragon in New Marvel First Look

Marvel has given fans a first look at the cover and interior art for Deadpool Team-Up #1 ahead of its release this August. The new Deadpool series will see the Merc with a Mouth getting help from his superhero friends as he fights a dragon.
Deadpool is joined on the ultimate team-up mission by friends and “frenemies”, including characters like Wolverine, Hulk and Spider-Man‘s Ghost Spider. The series is both written and illustrated by Deadpool’s co-creator, Rob Liefeld. Marvel’s preview of the debut issue shows Wade Wilson and Ral Dorn (Dragon Lord) working their way through ankle-deep water before coming into contact with a ferocious, fire-breathing dragon. Wolverine quickly joins the fight, helping Deadpool and Ral Dorn as another enemy stands in their way. Deadpool Team-Up #1 goes on sale Aug. 28.

In addition to Wolverine, Hulk and Ghost Spider, Marvel has also teased other members of Deadpool’s upcoming motley crew. Major X, the alternate-reality son of Cable who was also created by Liefeld, is also set to appear in the new Team-Up series along with the character Crystar, the Crystal Warrior. More details about their roles in Deadpool’s team are expected to be revealed closer to the series’ debut. Marvel previously published a Deadpool Team-Up series that began in 2009 and saw Wade Wilson teaming up with a wide variety of heroes, including Thor, Galactus, Iron Fist, the Ghost Riders, and The Watcher as well as humorous characters like Hell Cow and FrankenCastle.
Deadpool & Wolverine Team-Up in Numerous New Marvel Titles
To coincide with the release of the upcoming Marvel Studios film Deadpool & Wolverine, the comics’ publisher has unveiled numerous stories that will hit comic stores over the summer featuring the duo. Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII, by the team of Joe Kelly and Adam Kubert, sees the two heroes team up against a mysterious new threat called Delta.

Various Deadpool & Wolverine variant covers will also be released for the upcoming MCU film, including a series of cover art drawn by Marvel’s Stormbreakers that celebrates the mutants’ odd bromance. Special bonus content called Weapon X-Traction will also see the two go on a special adventure across Marvel’s various titles throughout the month of July. Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26.
